Michelle Lyons has always been a firm believer in integrative healthcare. For over twenty five years, I have specialized in women’s health, with a distinct focus on helping other women live a healthy, happy life. My philosophy is based on my experience as a healthcare practitioner, my specialised background in orthopaedics &women’s health physiotherapy, integrative healthcare, and as a woman. To paraphrase Dr Christiane Northrup, I have spent a long time studying all the things that can go wrong with a women’s body, now I want to focus on what can help things go right. I have over two decades of experience as a chartered physiotherapist. I am on the teaching & course development faculty of Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute in the U.S. and was an item writer for the PRPC certification exam. I am also a lecturer for the Pelvic Obstetric & Gynaecological Physiotherapy Association in the U.K. on their pregnancy/MSK courses and will be Clinical Lead on their new advanced pelvic floor courses. I blog and teach online (available late 2015) for Medbridge Education and have collaborated with both the Integrative Pelvic Health Institute and Burrell Education on a number of live and online women’s health educational programmes. I have a deep appreciation of integrative healthcare – using food, herbs, yoga, pilates and mind body techniques to help women transition to health. I have presented at the International Herbal Symposium, the New England Women’s Herbal Conference and the Wise Woman Weekend. In 2013 I co-founded the Women’s Health Physiotherapy group, which now has over 2900 members from all over the world; an abstract looking at the role of the group/social media in promoting women’s health was accepted for WCPT in 2015. Although I travel to teach all over the world, I live in the middle of Ireland in the historical village of Fore with my husband, daughter and assorted hens, dogs and fish. With a busy international schedule, I also find time to indulge my passion for cooking, reading, shopping for more books and reading some more!

Alan Christianson is a New York Times Bestselling Author and a Phoenix, Arizona-based Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) who specializes in natural endocrinology with a focus on thyroid disorders. He is the author of the Adrenal Reset Diet, the Complete Idiot’s Guide to Thyroid Disease, and Healing Hashimoto’s - a Savvy Patient’s Guide.

Dr. Christianson was a member of the premier class of Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) graduating in 1996. He has been actively practicing in Scottsdale ever since.

Dr. Christianson is the founding president of the SCNM alumni organization and continues to be an active board member. He is also the founding president and is currently the acting president of the Endocrine Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

As a child raised in rural Minnesota, Dr. Christianson was an avid reader. He loved spending time with his family’s encyclopedias and medical textbooks. His body, however, was a source of struggle. Cerebral palsy left him with seizures, poor coordination, and obesity.

A devastating comment made by a classmate in 7th grade gym class spurred him into action. He became determined to reset his health and his life. Over the next few weeks he devoured dozens of books on nutrition, fitness, and health and created his own recovery plan.

Dr. Christianson gave up sugar and developed an exercise routine that was easy enough for him to start on. He stuck with it and built on it. With no prior sports experience, he became a varsity football player and his classes’ best endurance runner by 9th grade. This experience taught him that being healthy transformed both how you feel and how others treat you. He also learned that the tickets to health were knowledge and persistence.

He frequently appears on national TV shows like Dr. Oz, CNN, The Doctors and The Today Show as well as print media like Women’s World, USA Today, Newsweek, and Shape Magazine. When he’s not maintaining a busy practice, his favorite hobbies include mountain unicycling, technical rock climbing, and watching the stars.

Dr. Christianson resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his wife Kirin, and their two children.
